Anne Briggs
I have recently altered my academic focus from one that favoured design to one in which the theory of the city is prominent. I completed a degree in Design at Leeds Metropolitan University (2008) and further studied at Goldsmiths College for the MA in Culture, Globalisation and the City (2009). My interest in the value of the rural within the urban has resulted in an ethnographic study of Hampstead Heath. It was through this work that sound installation became an interest and a drive to carry out this project.
Francesca Weber-Newth
Graduating from Edinburgh (2008) with a joint degree in History and Sociology I wanted to pursue more creative interests. At Goldsmiths College I completed an MA in Culture, Globalisation and the City (2009), a course which encouraged my interest in social theory as well as supporting an interest in documentary film and photography. In January 2010 I completed a short documentary film about a park in central Berlin, Mauerpark, a space under threat from urban development. My current research centers on the 2012 London Olympic site and its impact on regeneration and city branding.
